The Hammam-Inspired Powder Room

This space was designed to support both function and feeling.

The goal was to create an environment that feels intentional, balanced, and livable  where design choices enhance how the space is experienced day to day.
This powder room draws on the serenity and tactile richness of a Hammam ritual, transforming a small space into a moment of calm and sensory presence.

The Space + Why It Matters

A powder room is often the most fleeting space we encounter  yet
it’s a moment in your day that shouldn’t feel rushed or overlooked.

In this design, the room was envisioned as a pause point  a place
where light, material, and proportion work together to create a calm
noticeable enough to be felt, not just seen.

Taking inspiration from the traditional Hammam, a space dedicated to
ritual, rhythm, and reflection, this powder room brings an elevated
sensory experience into everyday life.

Flow and Materials

Rather than simply decorating the room, the design considers how
movement through the space can feel grounded and purposeful.
The materials — rich stone, organic surfaces, and carefully selected
finishes — were chosen to evoke a low hum of presence rather than
loud visual energy.

The spatial layout allows for easy circulation, even in a modest
footprint, and invites a moment of stillness rather than rush.
